This blend is helpful in times of sickness especially during colds, flu and sinus congestion.

Taste: sweet with strong menthol aromatics and a hint of pepper (thanks to the pungent Elecampane).

ELECAMPANE ROOT - stimulating expectorant, it effectively clears wet lung congestion and prevents secondary infections with its antimicrobial properties. It strengthens lung muscles, making it beneficial for chronic respiratory issues, and also aids in fevers with shivering and clamminess.Elecampane supports digestion by restoring digestive fire, promoting healthy tissues, and tightening leaky gut.
MULLEIN - a renowned lung tonic perfect for supporting respiratory health! Mullein soothes inflamed tissues, expels mucus, and eases spasms for smoother breathing. It also helps promote lymphatic flow.
EUCALYPTUS - may help treat the flu because it has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antiviral properties… also helps alleviate stuffy noses, irritating coughs, colds, sinus congestion, sore throats, aches and more…
YERBA SANTA - a powerful decongestant used for acute conditions, such as congestion (in the respiratory tract & sinuses) and excess mucus from seasonal allergies, sinus infections, flu, colds and for any deep-seated respiratory issues, opening the lungs and loosening stuck phlegm. Research indicates that it decreases the amount of phlegm while also addressing the mucosal tissues. Yerba Santa contains eriodictyol, a phytochemical known to be effective for immune support.
ORGANIC/WILDCRAFTED INGREDIENTS: Elderberry, Elecampane Root, Mullein, Eucalyptus, Spearmint, Lemon Balm, Licorice Root, Yerba Santa, Marshmallow Root.
SUGGESTED USE: Add 1 Tablespoon loose leaf (or tea bag) per 8 oz cup of boiling water. Steep for 10-15 minutes - or longer, covered. The longer the steep the stronger the flavor. Strain & sweeten as desired. Raw honey is my personal favorite sweetener.

* Keep bag in a cool, dry place away from light & heat.

TO MAKE INTO A SYRUP:
• Use 1/2 the bag of tea (roughly 7.5 TBSP)
• 2 cups of distilled or spring water
• add all to saucepan and simmer until liquid is reduced to 1/2. This will take 30-45 minutes. Watch it carefully as to not over simmer.
• strain mixture and let cool completely
• Stir in honey. You’ll want to use 1/2 the amount of honey to liquid ratio (for example: if you have 8 oz of liquid you’d add 4 Oz of Honey. 12 oz of liquid would be 6 oz of Honey…)
• you can also add vodka, brandy or an herbal tincture at 25% liquid to alcohol. This will really help increase shelf life.
This Syrup will need to be kept refrigerated!
* Honey only added to the liquid will keep for a few weeks in the refrigerator. Divide up into ice cube trays if you will not use it all within a few weeks.
* Adding alcohol at 25% will extend the shelf life of the Syrup to 6-9 months - must be kept refrigerated.
